Watercolour Portfolio
Here is my full progress in the journey of watercolours I started on 31st of July 2020.
Photos that have an ** (two asterisks) in the description are from my own photographs, those that don’t are not.
Newest art is at the top.
IF YOU LIKE ONE OF MY WATERCOLOURS AS A PRINT, PLEASE CONTACT ME AND I’LL SEE WHAT I CAN DO. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT I HAVE NEVER TRIED TO COPY OR PHOTOGRAPH MY WATERCOLOURS TO SELL, SO IT MIGHT NOT WORK.
SADLY I COULDN’T PART WITH THE ORIGINALS.
WATERCOLOURS THAT CAN BE ENLARGED ARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE
Port Reyes - Made a small but noticeable mistake with the name of the boat. It should follow the contour of the ship and not be straight
I had been following @elliepayne_photography on Instagram for a short while and found a photo that I had to turn into a watercolour. I sent Ellie a message and she kindly agreed that I could use her photo for a watercolour. This is what I managed to do. Hope you all like it. Check out Ellie's website at elliepaynephotography.com and her Instagram above.
Malham Cove - I’ve decided to add more detail on my line and wash watercolours. I need to paint trees better…. Not keen on the left side.
Duke of Normandy II (Greenock) at Crinan, Argyll, Scotland** - Haven’t done any watercolours in a year or so. A few mistakes in here. The trees could be better.
Eilean Donan Castle, Highlands of Scotland - Shadow of castle in the wrong position. Not keen on this
Clapham Beck, near Ingleborough Cave, Yorkshire Dales** - I painted this again because I liked the scene. This time it was my intention to add more rocks showing out of the water, but I completely forgot. Also the trees and grass could have been much better
Eilean Donan Castle, Highlands of Scotland
Eilean Donan Castle, Highlands of Scotland
Malham**
Crinan, Duke of Normandy** - Shadow of the ship could have been more prominent. I didn’t finish the yatch.
Malham, Yorkshire Dales**
Malham Cove** - I prefer this one and I think it’s the best painting I’ve done of the Cove
Cottage along the Crinan Canal, Argyll, Scotland**
Clapham Beck, near Ingleborough Cave, Yorkshire Dales**
Washed-up boat on the bank of Loch Linnhe near Fort William, Highlands of Scotland
A few what I painted over a few weeks. The top watercolour was from one of my own photographs
Malham Cove**
The border should have been left white, but I forgot
Abstract
Robin Hood’s Bay, North Yorkshire
Lochranza Castle, Island of Arrran, Scotland**

Atlantic Puffin with sandeel
Not keen on this. Background was supposed to be of a night sky and there should be stars on the image. Silhouette of Highland Cow could have been neater
Honey Bee**
Lochranza Castle, Isle of Arran, Scotland**
Lerwick, Shetlands, Scotland - I hate water. Water is my nemesis
Scenes from a PC game called Limbo
Very first watercolour I painted
